I roughly own somewhere around 13 or 14 Amanda Ashley books. I like how she writes old school vampire romance without having to write tons of graphic scenes to make her stories interesting.

Bound By Night is the first book in a two part series (2nd book is Bound by Blood). This story isn't her best work. It was somewhat hard for me to get into this book until about halfway through. Once I did finally get interested in the story, I sped through it and ended up liking the book.

I wasn't crazy about the cover art of the book. I don't think the guy on the cover is vampire material, and doesn't fit my idea of Christian Sherrad. The woman on the cover doesn't match the character of Elena either. On the cover her hair is obviously a shade of red, but in the book her hair is black. The problem with the cover art is just a small thing, but I have a quirk about cover art matching the book.

Like I said before, this isn't her best work but in the end I did end up enjoying it.
